This biome would be on mostly flat or rolling terrain in a temperate, mid-temperature area. It would be populated with Maple trees, which would form a dense canopy, letting little light through. On the ground could be sparsely placed flowers and tall grass. Maple saplings, being shade tolerant in real life, may grow in lower light levels. Leaves would be a reddish-orange color (like a red maple). Possible inclusion of oak, birch, or spruce trees as well.
Maple wood could be a good addition to the game, as players often enjoy new woods for their color palettes. Maple trees could also be used for producing syrup or sugar.
Bark color would possibly be like a much browner version of acacia, or a more desaturated version of oak.
Interior wood color could be anywhere between yellow and pink (considering the recent addition of cherry, probably less pink).
Leaves would most likely be five-pronged, and red or orange in color.
Maple trees can branch out quite low and even have multiple trunks, and that may be reflected in the shape of the in-game trees.
The biome would probably have little ground cover due to the dense canopy. Perhaps maple leaves could cover the ground, similar to the pink petals from the cherry biome.
I believe the Maple Forest Biome would be a good addition to the game because it would add an interesting new wood type, unique new leaves, and incorporate a very common and important real-life biome into the game.
