Blowguns would be a weapon that would deal half a heart of damage per shot. Blowguns are different from bows and crossbows as you can aim and then shoot three darts in a row before reloading (in contrast to a bow's one-shot-per-reload capabilities) but blowguns would also have a less precise aim. Players could improve their blowgun's aim by adding a precision enchantment or using a feathered dart. Darts are crafted with clay and feathered darts are made with clay and feathers. Feathered darts could be tipped with items to add different temporary effects to players hit:
Sweet Berries: Cold resistance (for powder snow)
Glowberries or glowstone dust: Glowing (player emits light)
Rose: Inverse Thorns (player takes damage if they deal damage)
Blue ice: Frost (player is unable to move for a second)
Lily of the Valley: Blindness
Bubble coral: Swim speed boost
Gunpowder: Creeper's curse (makes players give off a small explosion when they hit something or take damage, damaging themself, other players and entities, and surrounding blocks. Continues for two mins. or until an explosion is triggered.)
Blowguns could also be enchanted with capacity, (increases the number of darts that can be shot before reloading) and unbreaking.
Blowguns would be good for Minecraft because they fit the "vanilla feeling," would fit nicely into 1.20 (or any other update), and blowguns are crafted with bamboo and darts are tipped with a wide range of materials from different biomes, encouraging players to explore.
