To me, the newly announced cherry blossom biome looks a tad out of place, and it lacks a little bit of flare. Don't get me wrong, I love the fallen flowers, pink particles, and such but it doesn't feel alive and lush enough.
Firstly, wild cherry blossom trees are not always colored pink. Most wild cherry blossom trees have white flowers, this could be implemented in the new biome with some cherry blossom trees having white flowers/leaves but still having the same type of wood.
Secondly, they should add one or two types of flowers/bushes. To me, the lilacs and peonies look like they would fit the biome pretty well. But the cherry blossom trees are a part of the Rosaceae family, so they could add rose bushes and even add a new type of rose, pink rose bushes, to keep going with the theme. Then, they could add some type of unique food source. Cherry bushes, very similar to how sweet berries would work, could be added as they are also closely related to cherry blossoms. If not, they could add a mechanic where the cherry blossom flowers/leaves could drop a cherry or two as some cherry blossom trees provide fruit.
Lastly, this biome could be generated only near cold biomes or somewhere in medium-high altitudes (similar to meadows). That's all I could think of for now! Let me know what you think in the comments.
I wonder how will be the mechanics of cherry blossoms be like... Will it have stages from unblossomed to blossom? For me, I'm completely fine with it being purely for aesthetic.
