    Here's my problem: In the original experimental trailer, you were able to brush the whole block away, layer by layer. What happened to that? New block heights for things like dirt, sand, gravel, and such would be so great, and give the brush a new use.

    I feel like the "smelting different shards into the pot" idea should be reintroduced: the pots should still be made with four bricks in the crafting table, but the only way to apply shards would be to place the pot on a campfire/soul campfire, and then put those shards on the pot. However, breaking a pot should still give you its shards/bricks back just like in the snapshots.

    I think that Minecraft should add a new archeologist villager that could have like, a workstation we could use to create the pots and stuff we find. I also think instead of archeology sites, I think abandoned villages could have stuff, as well as mineshafts, other abandoned structures, or some ancient storage building that has fallen apart over time. This way the player seems more like an archeologist going and making their own archeology sites and not going through existing ones. (you guys probably are already doing this but putting the armor trims in the archeology places would be cool)

    So I have some suggestions about Archeology and how to integrate it into other systems in the game.

    The first, is that I think the Java way of turning suspicious sand into regular sand after receiving an item would be the best method. Rather than having the block break afterwards.

    Urn stencil template & unfired pots - The idea is that you can take a banner design made in a loom and turn it into an urn stencil template. I'm unsure of the recipe, but the original banner would not be consumed in the creation of the stencil template. Allowing you to make as many as want. You would then create an unfired pot using clay balls in the place of bricks. The unfired pot can be placed on the ground and by holding the stencil template in your main hand, you can click on one of the sides to imprint the template. Which consumes the template, this can be done on all four sides. You would than take the imprinted unfired urn and place it in a furnace or blast furnace to get an Imprinted Urn. This would allow for more personalized decoration purposes.

    I would also suggest allowing liquid like milk or water to be stored in the pot allowing for more usage.

    Mural Shards - glass shards that can be found in suspicious sand. Combining these shards creates glass panes with stylized images.

    what are the chances pots can be dyeable or they can have separate dyable faces to give them a bit more story and customization similar to how armor trims work maybe the stone cutter could be used and modified to throw pots in and dye them or there faces. also, this adds more uses for dyes. and one other suggestion the possibility of using water to maybe wash the dye off if you dislike it?

    Just an idea. I know more dig sights are coming. But having dig sights for each type of structure each with unique drops depending on the biome or structure could fit well in the update. Also some below ground dig sights or spots within the ancient cities or strongholds could be nice.

    Please please PLEASE add a painting feature for these new pots. I want to have a brush feature and be able to customize them.

    More cultural relics,bronze artifacts and the clay golem.

    In real life, the cultural relics discovered during archaeology are not only containers, but also tools or rare weapons. We hope we can get new tools which used in ancient times.

    And China's archeology is more special, such as Terracotta Warriors, so I think mojang can consider adding clay golems to archaeology. You can find their broken body parts in suspicious sand, and then reassemble them. As for the purpose , let the developers to decide. : )

    On the other hand, among the ancient artifacts found in China, there are a large number of items that are made of bronze, which can give copper more uses in the game!

    It looks great so far, but I feel like archaeology should be in jungle temples, and in mineshafts as well.

    Another idea that I have is to make the pots hold liquids and use them for giant flowers. Giant flowers because the small pots that are already are in the game are for the smaller plants, but we dont have anything for the tall shrubbery/flowers yet.

    Also the pottery needs more designs than what is showcased in the preview/snapshot. Maybe combine plain pottery shards with all mob heads already in the game, and the enchanted golden apple in an imprinter for cool designs. Another Idea that I saw in the youtube comments on your archaeology video is to guild the pottery as well, which would make the pots more unique in design. Maybe take some of these ideas into consideration please?

    maybe you could use it as storage and its a block that obeys gravity and when it falls little break into whatever you made it out of and drop everything it held

    Add some references to old minecraft things like uncovering some old wall drawings/paintings of stuff like herobrine and references to the lost mobs from the Mob Votes in some ancient structure or something

    Suspicious sand should spawn in Abandoned Villages and Shipwrecks

    I feel that they should change the recipe of the brush to use copper and feather

    I think they should also add fossil fragments, which can later be smelted or crafted into bones

    An actual excavation site structure would be much cooler. 1.20 misses new structures anyway

    I feel there should be a new mini structure like amethyst geode that has more sussy sand than the temple and well. I also think the brush should be crafted with a stick, copper ingot, and 3 feathers so it could match the item.

    I think that archeology is great so far! But there are tiny details that I'm not so comfortable with:

    1. Archeology is a great new feature, but the rewards aren't good enough. Think about it, deserts are one of the, about 59, biomes. So 1 in 59 chance to find it. Still, most of the deserts don't even have pyramids or wells. I don't think of something so rare, but diamond and emerald blocks instead of diamonds and emeralds, would be nice.

    It would be cool if there was a sort of suspicious gravel (it could be called suspicious slate). This could be found in abandoned mineshafts, occasionally in gravel plains and many even in a new dig-site structure. Also, I would like it if there was a new fossil added to the game. But anyway, archaeology is amazing!

    I got some ideas

    -Make so every biome with a structure have a dig site,like the ancient cities

    -exclusive loot that can help you while on other dig sites

    -different types of brushes depending on the location,like an echo brush,which is created just like a normal brush,but with an echo shard in the middle

    -More suspicious versions of other blocks

    -stone chests,stone vases and stone pots with exclusive loot that we have never seen before

    -dyeable pots and vases (made by finding dyed fragments)

    -different types of shard including their color depending on what type of dig site they are in

    Archaeology is very cool and I am glad that it has finally been introduced into the game. I think it would be even better if the pots could be painted (each fragment separately) and if they could store various liquids by type of soups and so on. Thanks to this, soups in Minecraft could be used more often and it would become more useful. For example, you can fit 5 bowls of mushroom soup in one pot. It would also be great if suspicious sand could be found in underwater ruins, a temple in the jungle, abandoned villages...

    Suspicious stew should be removed from the loot table. It makes zero sense as a archeological artifact. Instead, lots and lots of things that do make sense as artifacts should be added. What does make sense as artifacts? Things that preserve in the ground. What does not preserve well in dirt? FOOD.

    What Mojang, you didn't wanna teach kids to feed fireflies to frogs, but you're OK with teaching them to eat suspicious-looking food items they find on the ground? Hope you enjoy frivolous lawsuits.

    Artifacts that make sense would be broken down stone and iron tools and weapons, shields, arrows, everyday utilities such as grindstones, damaged anvils, cauldrons, pottery shards, flower pots, flint and steel, flint without steel, nuggets, bricks, bowls, bones & skulls (probably just skulls, else Mojang will get worried kids might learn to dig up dead bodies to feed them to dogs and use as fertilizer)

    If your goal is to get players to use suspicious stews more, a far better way to do that is to give clay pots a use: Cooking.

    The model of the pots should be changed to what we saw in the caves & cliffs announcement, a much wider opening makes more sense for a cooking pot.

    Place a pot on a campfire or smelting furnace, put in water & ingredients. Potatoes, carrots, beets, meat, kelp, etc. Each food item added makes the stew more nutritious. When you throw in a brown and red mushroom, and a flower, you create a suspicious stew. Adding multiple different flowers should add multiple stew effects.

    Archeology is certainly implemented well, but I think we need to add "red suspicious sand" so that archeology can be done in the "mass" or in the "red desert" biome as some say. Another suggestion emerges from this sentence - add the variations of a desert temple or a desert well for "mass" or "red desert". You can also add "red suspicious sand" to abandoned mines that are quite common in the Mass. Yes, my idea could be shortened, namely with one sentence "add red suspicious sand" then I described what I want to see in the archeology system in the minecraft 1.20 update. I hope my idea will not be ignored (although there are a lot of ideas and the chance that my idea will be seen is close to 0%). Bye!

    Give us the ability to extract suspicious sand with a silk touch so that we can clear it at our base.

    For me Archeology is great! But it needs some work. I would like to see the old look of the pots (these are shown in Minecraft Live 2020) . Also, in my opinion, you should add some more pots like amphoras, etc.

    I feel like it would be a neat addition to the pottery pot if we could put loot inside of them. Y'know how in most adventure games if you break pots they give you loot? I feel like it would also be a great addition to Minecraft for adventure maps and for decoration! You could also break them in one punch or arrows. Furthermore you could place these inside jungle temples, monuments, desert temples, etc. To enhance the adventuring experience.

    i am loving this update so here are some ideas to make it better for archeology:

    • Make the pots dyeable, terracotta is a thing, it would be really nice to have different pots for different style builds;
    • Obviusly more shards: like in the reveal video back in 2020, the draggon, the illager, maybe had some new ones like maybe a totem of undying shard.
    • More dig sites, it could be in that big empty cube space in the abondent mineshaft, ocean ruins, jungle temples, maybe in some dead ends in the strongholds;
    • Make them interactable in some way;
    • Make it better with the normal flower pot so that the pixal dont fight.

    And that's all the ideas i have, keep the good work :D
