Na minha opinião acho q deveríamos poder pintar os potes com corantes

If you look at the sprite, it has a bit of copper. Can we get a use for copper so the top row is all strings or feathers, so both work, then in the center, a copper ingot, and then bottom center would be stick?

I think there should be a rare chance that when you finish brushing suspicious sand, you can dig up a loot chest dependent of where you found it

    //Pots//
    Problem:
When the first snapshot dropped i struggelt to craft the new pots in the desinge i wanted them to be.

    Solution:
I think we should give the pot its own new tabel like a potterie tabel to make dekorativ pots eazier to craft and coustomizable.

    Funktions:
The tabel would work just like the loom for banners but for pots.

Extras more detail on the funktion:
The tables funktion could give pots colour and lots background texture and it also would have a little display of how it will look when its placed in the world like the loom for banners.
Make it also so we can copie the pots desinge to other pots so we dont have to redo all those steps.

    Conclution:
Giving pots more layers to Coustomize would give pots more detail and it will deffently have its own community of making desings and sheareing them online to other players like banners nowa days.
    :]

I think being able to barrier your own items to make sus sand would be fun!

maybe making pots dyeable would be good too! makes them more useful in building!

Maybe this could be put together like in a smithing table

Please let us craft suspicious sand with our own choice of item hidden in it so we can make treasure hunts! Also please let us put items in decorated pots so that we can get that Zelda-like pot smashing excitement going!

Add suspicious gravel and dirt, and add them to lots of different structures so that we can do archaeology everywhere we go! Vastly increase the diversity of items available from them.

Also consider allowing us to dye shards, similar to how we can dye terracotta. This will vastly increase the combinations we can achieve!

Overall, I believe this system will be a great element to improve immersion in exploration and increase world focus.
But I hope the pot has some use beyond decoration, even if it could end up being a 1-bucket stockpile, or just a small 9-slot inventory.
I hope that more blocks can be excavated so that structures in other biomes can also take advantage of this mechanic, such as jungle temples.
And finally, I hope that over time, even if it is in other updates, new items will be added even if unique to be found using the archeology system, such as statues, artifacts, possible scarabs or something similar to canopic jars, and for those things, I think it's a great time to finally have a peestal for these exploration and archeology items to be displayed as decoration!

(Sorry if the English is confusing, I used online translations :#p )

The whole concept of archeology is amazing. Everything looks good except the clay pots and pottery shards being put on them. In my opinion, the appearance of the pots should be the same as on Minecon from 2020, i.e. it is smaller and with a wider top. It would also be better if the old method of putting pottery shards on pots returned, i.e. we put them with the right mouse button, not in the crafting table. It would be nice if you created clay pots that would look like on minecon in 2020, and then harden them over the fire.

I think we need a new structure, or maybe reshape the jungle temple, we might need something new, quite big, rare and interesting, for example a rare pyramid with a deeeeeeep hole, similar to those in Egypt, with traps, lore and trasure... Actually, i think the desert only needs the update which adds palm tresss and meercats to make it perfect! So many options...

Archeology is not just decorative pots and brushes. I hope that in the future we will see much richer game content that reveals this word.

i have 4 idea for pottery pots:

    - you can color the pots fragments

-you can put plants in the pottery pot

-you have a special crafting table with a preview of your pot

-you can put liquid on the pot and if you put a potion and a plant ,the plant will absorb the potion and release it into the air around the pot for a few minutes.

OK, so one of Mojang's stated objectives is to be respectful to old features. How about you turn archeology into a way to preserve old structure generation.

Old structures like old style villages, indev houses, heck, why not the occasional brick pyramid or a bit of obsidian wall near 0,0,  could spawn underground, directly under patches of sus sand (and other sus blocks). This would give Mojang the freedom to update all sorts of overworld structures in future updates, while allowing the original versions to remain in the game, and making it an achievement to find them and dig them up. Add new desert temples, iterate on villages again and again over the years, and each time move the last iteration underground. The deeper you go, the more primitive the structures you find, just like real life archeology. Villages in particular could generate in many layers right atop each other, just like in real life, where old cities are built mostly on previous layers of themselves.

These old structures should of course generate with suspicious blocks all around and throughout them, adding additional motivation to completely excavate them.

This would be a great way for players of older versions to indulge our nostalgia, and allowing newer players to experience Minecraft history in a way that makes perfect sense. The community always seems happier when features get added, not replaced, and this could become the default way to do that each time a structure gets updated in the future.

Maybe add some very worn out trimmed armors to archeology loot pool

We need at least 1 more pottery shard type because you  can currently put all 4 styles to one pot

I feel like being able to insert items into the clay pots would be really fun. Imagine if you were playing an adventure map and had to smash a pot for a key!

You should be able to tickle mobs with the brush. It's not a useful feature, just a funny one.

Honestly, the new archeology kinda sucks. The one shown in minecraft live 2020 was much better. The idea of having more customization and having to harden them with fire was much better than the system we have now.

Can the animation of digging up the sand or gravel with the brush be the same as the previous animation as shown when it was first showcased? :)

Here are what I would love to see in Archeology:

-Bring back the old way of making pots: By curing clay pots (with shards you manually place onto) on top of fire.

This feels way more personal and fun than just crafting it with bricks and shards on a crafting table. I don't think it would be so hard for player to figure that out, really.

In the 1.17 Minecraft live, you could put shards onto pots as blocks. Now, the new implementation IS better, however, if you're unhappy with the patterns you put there, you have to: break the pot with a pickaxe, find a crafting table and recraft it. I don't think you should be able to remove pottery shards, but maybe put them in blank pots? It would cost more bricks, but laziness should have a small price.

It would be really cool if you could put atleast one item in the pot so if you were to break one with a tool the items would drop. :D

Since the pot is currently purely decorative.

I liked the old way of making pots, using raw clay and putting it over a fire to bake it. I believe doing it in a crafting table is a bit confusing for the new players, especially when deciding which shard goes where.
Regarding placing the shards onto the pot, one side of the pot should remain being able to hold only one shard like it currently is.

I also feel like brushes should be made out of a stick, a copper ingot and a feather.
In addition, putting pots with different/unique shards into places like the stronghold and the ancient cities would work very well for bringing lore into the game. On that note, maybe a way to color or gild the pots so they're not always too bland.

Oh yeah, variations of the suspicious sand block for different minecraft biomes. "Mysterious Dirt", "Questionable Gravel", "Odd Stone" et cetera.

    Great update!

I like this new feature since its announcement in Minecraft Live, but I still think that a copper ingot should be used to craft the brush as planned as well as adding more functions for the pots more that just a decoration like making it a chest that players can't interact with it or know what's inside it unless they broke it or can be interactable using only hoppers to get items inside but can't get them outside of the pot and I would like to see more places to add suspicious sands to it or maybe add a new suspicious gravel block that have the same functions as the sand but can only be found in underwater ruins for example

    Pot painting

Good afternoon mojang! I would like to suggest adding the ability to recolor pots in different colors using dyes. For me, this would add more opportunities for decorate. For example, white pots could be used as columns in classical buildings, also white pots in an office with large plants in them, brown pots could be used as beams in wooden buildings and there are a lot of such examples. I will be very happy if this is added to minecraft!

    • add the ability to paint pots with dyes

P.S. I wrote this through google translator, so sorry if there are any mistakes :)

I think having the whole pottery process would be cool.  First, you craft the pot, then use artifacts to leave impressions in the clay.  After that, then you wait until the clay dries.  If you still wanted to add more stuff to your pot, get it wet.  Once dried, then you can fire it.  After the firing, you can then glaze it with dyed water.  This would give cauldrons another use.

If you decide you want to get rid of the glazes you have on, then just get it wet in undyed water.  Similar to leather armor, you can add multiple glazes to your pot to get the color you want.  Once done, you fire it one last time, and boom!  You have made yourself a nice-looking pot.

The first stage of your pot is the least durable.

The final stage of your pot is the most durable.

I believe this would complement the 1.20 theme because it allows players to express themselves in more ways.  Additionally, this feature educates them about the ceramic process.

How about more items unique to archeology like little statues or individual ancient items.

I have many ideas as to what archaeology can be in Minecraft but first I want to address that the brush should be crafted with a stick, copper ingot (to give more uses for copper) and then string. Now let me express these ideas I mention in the beginning. First is to bring back the abandoned archaeology sites , the ones you have teased in 2020 and put them in all biomes. I then say to make different type of suspicious blocks such as suspicious gravel, dirt, moss, mud, clay and ice. There would be easy blocks that the brush can handle but also blocks that are harder to uncover such as needing a pickaxe and right click to chip away as its the only tool that does not have a right click function or maybe even a new tool entirely like a copper or rose gold chipper that would be able to uncover ancient items from hard suspicious blocks. The shovel and hoe could be used for mud and moss or for mud you would have to drain it to get suspicious clay and then brush it. Also in the colder biome, you could instead of bringing back just items you could uncover new mobs that have been frozen over and can even use the chillager to protect these ancient mobs, maybe even have other mobs protecting the other archaeology sites. I also say you should upgrade the dungeons as they should be apart of the archaeology sites and can have naturally generated pots. Also put suspicious blocks around the fossil structures and possibly archaeology sites around them too. The giant can be given a use too.

I have 2 suggestions for the archeology section of this update:

    1. Move the desert trims into the suspicious sand loot pool.

    2. I would like to see dedicated archeology sites around the world, either overseen by a villager or pillager to explain why an archeology site is there. Maybe a new armor trim exclusive to these sites that would further incentivize justifying these sites existences. Lastly I would like to see these sites vary, from structures we can see in the bottom of the ocean, temple related ruins, and maybe archeology sites surrounding ruined nether portals.
