This is a great addition! One small thing is that a few of them look very similar. I like their styles, but I can’t tell some of them apart and I could imagine a little more variety in the trim patterns. I like the way everything works mechanically though, and even the ones that look the same still look good

Please add coloured leather horse armour (with hex colours) as a parity change for Bedrock edition. On Java edition, coloured leather horse armour allows resource pack makers to create cool custom textures!

In my opinion, the armor trims are too expensive! You have to search in lots of structures for the templates, which you can only use once. Beside, for duplicating 1 template you have to use 7 diamonds! that's absurd for something that is merely decorative. In my opinion the templates should be unbreakable, so that way you wouldn't have to worry about spending tons of diamonds to make just one more template.

I found the idea of armor trim awesome, but in my opinion it is extremely expensive to duplicate a template, and for something that is only for the aesthetic, it doesn't makes sense to be that way.

I think the templates should be able to be used more than once, and the duplicating crafting should be cheaper.

Color correction for the rib armor trim: the costumization is too dark in this armor trim.

Would like to point out few things:-
-> While the concept of exploring structures to get Armor Trims is very fun, they shouldn't be the sole reason to explore that said structure. Structures such as Desert/Jungle Temples feel very old and boring compared to Ancient Cities. This might be off-topic but a revamp to these structures and expanding on them to bring them to the same level as other newer structures would make it so much better, cause as of the upcoming update there isn't much good/exclusive loot to these structures to make them interesting.

-> Dyes should fill the role of providing color to the Armor Trims. These would give us a wide range of options to choose a color from, rather than the 7-8 provided by Ores.

-> The Diamond Cost for Duplicating Templates is way too costly, and imo should be reduced/replaced with other cheaper blocks. Something like 3 diamond should be fine for the purpose of copying.

Armor trims were announced on snapshot 23w04a for Java edition. Now, imagine if when you trimmed your armor with different ores You got certain effects. It doesnt necessarily have to be effects like the ones given by potions, that would be too overpowered. Maybe certain types of trims could give you boosts based on what the ore you are using does by itself. For example, maybe gold trimmed armor lowers the range hostile piglins see you on, or gives better odds on bartering. Maybe emerald armor makes villagers respect you more, or redstone armor powers the block bellow you. It could also be more cosmetic effects, like amethist armor making sound when you walk like when you do it on amethist blocks. Maybe iron trimmed armor increases the protection number it gives you by a bit, or netherite trims make it survive lava. Maybe combining different trims on your four slots combines the effects but makes them weaker to balance them, and using the whole set with the same type of trim increases the effect. This could give an enormous amount of depth to the armor system.

This might be too much for a niche feature, but I prefer simpler patterns that can be combined, more like banner patterns.

It would also be interesting if some patterns could be used in the dyes to give a wider variety of colours. On our Minecraft server, certain players are associated with quite vivid colours, and amethyst and copper trims are not quite right for this (quite possible some other ones as well)

If you ask me, you should be able to trim armor with the same material as the armor itself (I used commands to see how they look with the same material, and they look pretty neat!)

I think the trims could have some kind of slight change to the armor, such as gold making Piglins not attack you or Netherite adding slight extra knockback resistance. maybe the trims themselves could add something like the tide trim giving light respiration.

    Mineral accessories for leather armor

The idea is to add mineral accessories to the leather armor, these accessories would not change the color of the armor but its shape with slight details, for example an iron ingot on a leather coat rack, add iron shoulder pads on the leather one and On the character's elbows I even have iron gloves on the character, in addition to increasing the defense of iron armor.

    Color change for enchantments

The idea is that players can change the color of the enchantments to customize, the default color would be transparent and it would look like waves to know that it is enchanted, they could be changed through a book or essence that could be obtained in some structure, or a new enchantment book that when combined with the squid ink and the dye would give the book with the color of the dye and use it on the enchantment table or on the anvil.

Each material should give a corresponding ability/value/stats Armor trim shouldn't be purely aesthetic. That’s what skins are for..

Something that would be cool on armor trims would be able to use glow inc sacs to glow the trims on your armor

Create a template to make trims able to glow using glowstone or glowsquid ink! Perhaps squid ink for leather and glowstone for metals?

I absolutely love the exploration that comes with finding smithing templates however the only concern I have with the trims is applying them to anything but diamond and netherite, I feel most playing will never add any trims to anything but those two, which really sucks because it limits the amount of creativity you can have with these armor trims.

For me, the big problem with armor trims is that the player will not feel motivated to make a combination that uses iron armor, for example, restricting customization to basically netherite armor of different colors and designs.

So the solution I thought, would be to add a second armor slot that would be cosmetic only. So players could create any combination they wanted without losing the protection that a netherite armor provides.

To fell more minecrafty, this second slot could be hidden, so the inventory menu would still the same. And above the helmet slot could be a small button that would switch to the cosmetic armor slot.

I think this feature is extremely cool. One suggestion is having the preview or some sort of thing where we can choose which combination to aim and what to put on what armor. I think the issue is now, we have to go in the smithing table and we don't have any clues as to where to get and all of those minor changes.

I love the Armour trims but I have a problem with the enchantment glint the enchantment glint should different animations that reflect the top enchantment they were given like giving Armour and animated shield to show it has protection and giving swords a flaming effect to show fire aspect

One change that will be making it so that the trims can slightly change the shape of the Armour maybe bigger shoulder pads or a sort of red Mohawk effect on the helmet

Without diamonds themselves being renewable (similar to how you can smelt down tools/armor that are made of gold & iron into nuggets to recycle them from mob drops/loot chests), its going to be very hard to get these templates on servers and in some servers they might go extinct or be exploited. They shouldn't be consumed but can be duplicated still and or make diamonds renewable at a loss similar to gold/iron nuggets from smelting tools & armor.

Maybe use the pixels of the trim as a mask on the enchantment glint, so the trims stood out more?

It would be interesting if you could add a glow squid sac to make the armor trims glow in the color you made them in.

I think it would be cool if players could make the trims glow in the dark using glow squid ink. Considering how expensive getting the trims or I think it would make sense to let more be done with the concept.

Ive also seen many people asking for the trims to have their own niche benefits like piglins reacting to gold trim. I think its a good idea but I feel that every trim would need to have its own small benefit then. A different possible approach would be to tie the benefits to the smithing plates rather than the ores but that would also come with its own set of issues.

Another suggestion that I have and which everyone has talked about to death at this point is trims also being usable on horse armor and elytra. I think its a great idea and so do many others.

I have on more suggestion but its more of a "This is cool but I doubt its ever going to happen.", idea. I would love if players could craft trims for iron golems or if iron golems that spawn in villages could spawn with specific trims. Say, a ice village could have one spawn with a lapis trim and a desert could have one spawn in with a redstone trim.

good to introduce netherite variant for horse armor and also armor trims

I believe that some things should be added/improved, such as:

-Netherite armor gives more protection than diamond armor
-Armor for dogs and horses up to netherite and their appropriate customizations
    -Fuse body armor with Elytra
-Make customizations available for tools such as swords, pickaxes, axes, shields, hoes, shovels and bows
-Customs affect items in some way, such as increasing durability, protection, efficiency, or some other characteristic
    -Have new accessories
    -Expand the possibility of combinations
-Changing the way of duplicating molds, it is very expensive to make molds these days

Decorative armor trims should generate in clusters of 1-3 when they do spawn so players are more likely to apply them to armors like iron or gold.

In my opinion, it will need a buff to make it useful especially on multiplayer servers where diamonds have other purposes, My proposal is to have different benefits from armour trims.
Each ore would provide a small benefit that stacks for each armour piece that has trimming on.
Amethyst should boost luck in some way
Gold should stop piglins attacking the player
Diamond should increase armours base defence
    Netherite should increase knockback resistance
    Coal should provide fire resistance
    Emerald should increase luck
There could also be status effects that occur from using different templates though I haven't decided what this should be
