Explanation:
The nether is full of lava, and the overworld has many lava pools/ravines. One problem that many players run into while building, especially when doing large-scale projects, is that the lava gets in the way. Players have to tediously remove the lava block-by-block by placing sand and removing said sand. It would help players save a lot of time if we had a feature which removes lava, and a block, which works kind of like a sponge, but sucks up lava instead of water, would be perfect for removing mass amounts of lava.
Functionality:
The block would work similar to a sponge. However, this block would absorb less source blocks, because lava is less common and spreads less/slower. The sponge absorbs 7 blocks of water in all directions, so the lava-absorbing block would absorb 3 or 4 lava blocks in all directions. After the block is used, it will no longer be usable until the player places it in water, or uses water bottles by right-clicking on it. This could also be automated by allowing dispensers to use water bottles on the block. Once the block has been re-saturated, then it can be used again. This block can be used infinite amount of times. This block cannot be destroyed by lava, but can be destroyed by cacti. Other, than that the block will function just like any other block, and de-spawn when left on the ground too long.
Loot Item:
This block will not be craft-able. Instead, just like the sponge, the player will have to find it in a generated structure.
