It would be quite fun and useful if an armor stand with a player head (if they are made obtainable from sacrificing one's self to a charged creeper) would be recognized by hostile and passive mobs as a player.
For example, if an armor stand (with player head) were to hold seeds, chickens would walk toward it. And if a slime sees it, it may jump forward into whatever trap is laid at "Steve's" feet. It'd ward of scaredy mobs say if you wanted to protect the chickens you're wrangling as mentioned prior, etc.
I feel though some prerequisites may have to be met, (armor stand parity and obtaining a player head after death,) I feel like this mechanic could add depth and more uses for the elusive mob heads, especially considering how this could be applied to all of them. Dogs could go after armor stands with skulls on them. As it is now, considering the rarity and the trials it takes to obtain them, mob heads can always use more helpful features for those willing to go the distance and tangle with lightning and creepers.
It may bring a farm revolution, but it's a new endgame option that you'd have to respect anyone able to acquire such a wealth of mob heads to take advantage.
