Method of Making Armor/Items Invisible

I know that lots of us are upset that the potion of invisibility doesn't really make you that invisible, mainly because it doesn't cover up armor and held items. I'm pretty sure this is to keep it balanced, but what if there was a certain way to do it without making it a default feature?

A possible option is to add an enchantment called something like Ninja Sneak, or just something simple like Invisibility, to make the piece of gear be invisible when you have the status effect. If it needed to be nerfed, the status effect could reduce your defense, for example. 

Another option is to pack all those features into specific items, by adding something like ninja armor that provides little defense but is invisible when you have Invisibility, or maybe adding that feature to leather armor.

I don't really think it would work out to just lock this behind a second level of Invisibility, since it only costs one piece of glowstone dust, so it wouldn't really be that different that adding this feature to the first level.

If this actually gets added to the game, the only thing left would be to make invisibility not show the particles, since that still gives you away to players even if mobs still act the same either way.
