When the Ender Dragon is finally defeated, and the egg drops, why not add an option to hatch the dragon in a special "Dragon roost" (Requires wood of any type, glass of any type and colour, trapdoor and furnace to craft in crafting table) and raise it. Once the raised dragon is fully grown, it will hold a crystal on a certain part of its body which can open randomly generated structures known as "The dragon cradle" (Crystal can appear in different areas at birth according to element/random variation, i.e. tail, horns, claws, neck). In this world is a world hidden from humans (the players) full of dragons, and the most powerful (and the largest) dragons spawn in a randomly generated temple which can only spawn once per world. Each dragon that is killed in this dimension can drop dragon bone, which, if mixed with netherite, can make tools that easily help increase progress within the dimension, for example, a dragon-bone furnace which can be used with normal coal to make new ingots such as "Dragon-iron" or "Scorched gold" which has 1.5x - 2.5x better stats than their overworld counterpart. (Welsh coal could even be a new fuel source, which has higher efficiency due to its high carbon content). This could also be a part of the archaeology update, pottery fragments containing depictions of a pyramid-like structures being raided by humans covered in diamond/netherite armour with diamond/netherite weapons.
