At the moment if we want a villager to sell/buy a certain item we need to keep cycling the villager or work station till we get what we want. Instead it would be awesome if we could train a villager to buy or sell certain items associated with their trade. There are 2 ways this could be implemented.
1) The villager is able to hold an item like an Allay. If the villager cycles through their first time trades or upgrades their profession while he's holding an item, and that item is linked to his trade type, he has a chance of learning to either buy or sell that item. If he isn't holding an item, it will be random what he sells and buys.
2) Similar to the first method, but add a storage slot to the work bench that allows you to put the item in for them to learn how to buy/sell. If they learn how to buy/sell the item, it will consume it from that item slot in the work bench.
I think doing this would greatly improve villager trading as it would make them more interactive. Also, you could use this as an opportunity to train villagers to buy/sell stuff that they normally don't, even though it's an item that could be linked to that trade. An example would be giving a librarian a "Swift Sneak" book for him to learn how to sell it.
Thanks for listening to my ramble, and I hope this idea helps.
