Minecraft has a lot of blocks, but what if they had more? Why do we need them? Please don't just add lists of things - these will be marked as spam and removed! Also, no furniture, guns, or vertical/"sideways"/"upright"/"standing" slabs (yes, we see you).

a complementary bark item could also be added, obtained by stripping logs with a silk touch ax. Can only be applied to stripped log blocks, not all wooden blocks like veneer.

Both bark and veneer should only cover the 4 lateral sides of stripped log blocks, not the 2 cut sides.  Together with the retextured doors and trapdoors, this would give builders a lot of new options for not a lot of new items or mechanics.

quick calculation: in addition to the 12 blocks that already come in each of the 10 wood colors, so 120 blocks, I count 20 doors & trapdoors, plus 37 unique functional blocks that are partially or completely made of wood and show a particular wood color in their texture somewhere. I'm including stuff like torches and redstone components. Makes 57 blocks that, if wood veneers were added, could each occur in 10 wood colors instead of just one, so 57 * 9 = 513 new block variations for players to use in their builds, all for just a single item added to each wood type.

This would fit best into some kind of forest update.
