Monster spawners as they exist right now are sometimes seen as obsolete by late game players. This seems to be because methods like player built mob farms and guardian farms can often be more effective solutions because of their output and versatility.
So that dungeons and monster spawners can remain useful resources for late game players, or at least so that they can be somewhat competitive compared to these other methods, players should be able to "charge" monster spawners. This could work by having the player collect some valuable resource, such as sculk, blaze powder, or glowstone dust, and use it on the spawner.
This would consume the resource, but would also "charge" the spawner, causing more powerful monsters to spawn from it more frequently. Doing this could make more monsters spawn at a time, give them a better chance for variants like jockeys or armor/weapon wielding monsters, and make the wait time between monsters spawning shorter.
This could either be a permanent or temporary change. This would be useful for farms, or if the player wants tougher monsters to spawn into their build in survival.
