Upgradeable Shulker Boxes

I know this probably sounds like a bad idea, but think about it.

Some people(a lot of people) like space. They have an inventory full of shulker boxes, and ender chest full of them, but its never enough space. Unlike the idea of Double Ender Chests, (honestly that would break the game)

My idea is that you can upgrade empty shulker boxes, a bit like maps. So you place them in an anvil with a shulker shell, and when you remove it, you have a shulker box, but with 9 extra slots. You can repeat this until it has the same amount of space as a double chest. Another way i was thinking of, to make it a bit more expensive, because it would be a little op, would be surround a shulker box with 2/4/8 shulker shells, and each time you did this would add an extra 9 slots.

These larger shulker boxes would have a slightly different texture, to make it more recognisable as a large shulker box. These would function the same as normal shulker boxes, just more like a double chest.

Another way to make it slightly more set in stone, would to just surround a shulker box in a crafting table with 8 shulker shells, which would make it have the same amount of space as a double chest, no extra steps

Anotherrrrrrr way of doing this would be straight up crafting a double shulker box without needing an already made shulker box
