Optional Item Nerfing Gamemode

I've seen many videos and suggestions about nerfing certain items like the elytra and totem of undying. While you could remove or nerf them they are already a part of the game and would be hard to remove or nerf. A relatively easy way to fix this problem is by adding a separate sub-gamemode under survival or an entirely new gamemode. This special gamemode could have options to prevent spawning of specific items or have special, optional nerfs for certain items. The addition of this gamemode would make it a lot easier to instead of getting rid of items, make them optional in vanilla Minecraft and improve Minecraft as a whole.

Dude, you are suggesting to make MC moddable by default... At this point, just install a mod yourself
