Improve Ambience In The Overworld
The biomes in the overworld are supposed to have the most life. The nether and the end are supposed to give a less comfortable vibe. Oddly enough, overworld ambience makes the nether look very comfortable. We only have cave ambience and ocean ambience. I think that the biomes that make the overworld different should make some noise.
I think that leaves could help improve ambience. Maybe leaves could make a sound effect of cicadas or songbirds in the daytime. At night, they will play katydid noises. Each leaf would make a sound, then it would turn to the music you hear in real life when you get a lot of leaves. The same could go with grass. Grass could make the sound of crickets at night.
This would make lush biomes like jungles and mangroves sound more alive than now. Stepping near trees would make a sound.
When you follow the noise of crickets and cicadas in real life, they quiet down until you leave. I think that this should be the same for Minecraft too. Leaves placed by players shouldn’t make these noises unless they are from trees.
Biome loop ambience is something that makes the nether sound great. I think we could use this in the overworld. Wind could blow in snowy or desert biomes and more.
We could also use some simple occasional ambience. They could make distant animal sounds to native animals in the area. Landslides, earthquakes and other sound effects could also occur in the distance.
