Datapacks able to change the Creative Mode inventory

Many Minecraft players use datapacks to modify the game in a more user-friendly way. Almost all of these datapacks add a new block or item to the game. However, the creative mode inventory cannot be changed by datapacks which makes it difficult for a user to get these custom items. I think datapacks should be able to add their own items to the creative inventory, for example: 

Somewhere in the datapack directory, there could be something such as a "creative_inventory.json" file which contains all items and tabs inside of lists/arrays. From there, this file could be changed by datapack creators to add any custom items to the creative inventory. If this feature was added to Minecraft, everyone who loves modding the game with datapacks would be happy, and the players who use these datapacks could access custom items easily.

  Agreed, it would be interesting to be able to make our own custom versions either through datapacks or resource packs (to allow for unique player inventories on servers) as there won't be a perfect creative inventory for everybody. Allowing us to control the amounts of tabs and their icons would also likely be easy this way and useful as some people only need a few tabs and some may want many more.

  This would also allow people who like the old inventory, and all its flaws, to bring that back for themselves.
