The mob votes have created some division within the community. While it may be a vocal minority, very many still argue over which mob should win (or should've won), simply get disappointed in their favorite losing or, if their favorite won, that the losers may still never get added and may even get replaced with an item or something. Many would like to see all three get added (why they don't get added in a single update is understandable, just it seems like they could be added overtime in different updates).
Because of this, I think it'd be nicer and much more fun if the votes were made to be like the biome votes, so only mobs that are already planned to be added are used and our votes only affect the order they're added in. This way, there wouldn't be near as much arguing or disappointment, with the only issue being some not wanting to wait for their favorite to get added. Everything seemed much nicer when Mojang was doing biome votes rather than mob votes, and it's definitely a much better feeling knowing your favorite choice is guaranteed to get added instead of potentially scrapped or tossed away for something else (many don't only care for usefulness, they love the cool and cute designs and other qualities of the mobs).
At the very least, please don't make them like they are currently anymore. While they at least still bring cool new ideas and fanmade stuff to love, it still stinks getting attached to a mob that may never officially exist.
