proportionate stairs recipe

stairs recipe should produce at least 6 stairs, as 6 blocks are used, and stairs use less space

    Yes, but actually 8 stairs. With 6 pieces of planks, 8 stairs can be perfectly cut out of them.

    You lose half of whatever material you used! You should definitely get a full 8 stairs!

    no, not 8 because a stair block can take 7/8 of a block space, if it is used for an inwards corner. So, if we assume all of them will be used like that, we can only make 6 and 3/4

    they should produce 8 stairs, as stairs are 3/4 of a block and 6 / 3/4 = 8
