Over the past few years Mojang has taken up the ethic that mobs based on real animals should not be encouraged to harm.
Two of the most glaring exceptions to this are the hostile mobs 'silverfish' and 'spider'.
Spiders don't chase people. They only bite when they can't flee and they're always venomous. They should only hurt you if you step on them, and aggro if you attack them.
I also propose a new way of dealing with spiders: buckets. You can scoop a spider up, and place it somewhere outside so you don't step on it. Many recent mobs can be scooped up.
Many recent mobs also have colour variations. The world of spiders is brimming with colour and adding some could intrigue people who otherwise are repulsed by spiders. it could be based on biomes like the frogs, or random like axolotls. Traveling the world to capture exotic spiders could be a fun thing!
I think this would greatly improve the game for people who like and dislike spiders a lot
This does not refer to cave spiders, who I think should keep their hostility but should change into a fantasy mob.
