the upper world in Minecraft is very harmless and not scary, yes there are zombies and skeletons, but this is not enough. I suggest adding scary sounds at night, for example "somewhere in the distance something huge is felling trees" or "shouts of phantoms overhead" such ramdom sounds ones will very well affect the atmosphere of the game because, unlike other dimensions, the outside world sounds meager.
