MInecraft ai an awesome game, however something it lacks a bit is enchantment diversity: in the late-game, a player has a full netherite armor with all possible enchantments, with a sword with all possible enchantment etc
Out of 80 enchantments in the game, only 18 are mutually exclusive, and they almost all are couples; this leads to a lack of variety
Minecraft is, right now, focused on optimisation, but it would be better, if it was focused on specialisation; regarding enchantments, I propose 2 changes
More mutually exclusive enchantments
Just making some enchantments mutually exclusive would make the situation much better: I propose making mutually exclusive:
- Aqua Affinity and Respiration
- Soul Speed and Depth Strider
- Sweeping Edge and Knockback
Enchantment limit
There is no real limit to how many enchantment we can have on an item; the boots have the most enchantments avaible, with 7 enchantments
A limit to how many we can have, would depend on the tier, with Gold having the most enchantments per item, while Leather and Diamond the least
These changes will create choice; the player would have to choose which gear and which enchantment to put on, instead of just slapping all the books with an anvil without much thinking; a system like this would make variety and more diverse gameplay, as a player might prefer having some enchantments, while another some other enchantments; this will also make pvp and pve more interesting, removing an optimal set, good for every situation
