I propose a desert/badlands type biome, nestled in a grand ravine. To go with this biome I also propose a Danish brown rock variant.
This biome could generate inside a mountain Plateau, or dig into the world at standard height. It would taper down to a dry, or active river below. Sand, rock and tericotta would be the standard block makeup, forming walls, and ledges.
Cacti, Jacob trees, and desert brush and shrub would dot around the cliffs and ledges. Things like snakes, scorpians, spiders and maybe a few mammals to feed on them.
This biome should be rich in ore or building blocks, maybe even bone blocks. Gold could be found around the riverbed at the bottom of the ravine/canyon.
A few structures could spawn here. A Western style village, containing barrels, Dynamite, and maybe a stockpile of gold.
A camp, with leather, and other low their loot items.
A new Witch Structure, the Desert Manor, a rare spawn. (Inspired by the map Buried, CoD Black Ops 2 Zombies)
A new Mine shaft puzzle piece, the Mine Entrance. This will connect to a regular mine shaft.
My vision for this biome, is a grand feel. The ravine walls should tower above the player, while the ravine sprawls along in the distance. It shouldn't be barren, but clearly be a desert. It should also house lots of ore in the walls. Mostly iron and coal, with a decent splash of gold
