Flint is a very overlooked item in Minecraft and as someone who studies materials, it is a a very fascinating mineral in real life. Flint blocks would create so many opportunities, from better storage, decoration, and even some new uses.
Flint blocks would be crafted with 4 flint in a 2x2 pattern. This would make storing the mass quantity of flint I have much easier. It can't be uncrafted back but real flint breaks off into shards when broken so when flint blocks are broken they drop 4 flint (unless silk touched).
The new use for flint blocks is that they will be a transparent block. Real life flint has this clouded glass like look so this is to match that. The block will be a full-block solid. It will be visibly opaque but have the transparent property, like glowstone does. All of the transparent full block solids are either light sources, ice, leaves, or redstone related. Flint blocks will be none of those, making it a very unique block. It will look like a regular block, but have the properties of a transparent block. This gives it a plethora of uses in farms and builds.
It will have the same break time as glass and can be broken with hands. Much like how real flint was broken by hand to get flint shards in some ancient cultures.
Flint blocks could also be put in the stonecutter to make variants like smooth & chiseled. But it can also be made into pillars. Like a darker counterpart to quartz.
I know flint blocks aren't new but I just want to share some new fun ideas. :)
