Enderpearl get knocked back when a player hits them

It would be very cool, if when an Enderpearl it could be deflected by a player, similar to how a player can deflect a Ghast fireball. Maybe the Enderpearl will be pushed back 2 - 4 blocks? This will bring a new type of PVP into Minecraft and would be a very cool feature to have in the game.
