Windswept deserts would be a desert variant that generate next to existing deserts and resemble dunes. What sets this biome apart is that sand layers form here somewhat like snow in tundras, and that’s due to another unique feature of this biome, sandstorms. Sandstorms can generate exclusively here in place of thunderstorms and can generate sand layers. Placing a cauldron in a windswept desert during a sandstorm fills the cauldron with sand overtime which can be collected after with a bucket. This would make sand renewable in the game. These biomes also have sparsely placed palm trees in contrast to cacti-generating normal deserts.
