Game start items

I know you can start with the map but wouldn’t it be cool to start with a book and quill for a journal or a spy glass instead of all that work to have to go mining and possibly find a geode and get copper and smelt it just for a optifine type of thing or getting leather, ink, paper, and feathers just to get a book and quill, by the time you do all of that it would be a different day and it would be a wast of time, clock would be another idea so when your in caves on the first day you can know the time instead of all that work to get gold and redstone.
