Minecraft has a lot of blocks, but what if they had more? Why do we need them? Please don't just add lists of things - these will be marked as spam and removed! Also, no furniture, guns, or vertical/"sideways"/"upright"/"standing" slabs (yes, we see you).

Turn items back into materials

A good feature to add to Minecraft sould be where your can turn armor/weapons ect. Back into materials. A time this would be useful is when you upgrade from iron to diamond tools you could turn your iron tools back into iron to use for other things. Or if you have multiple gold armor sets from ruined portals/anything else you would be able to turn those armor sets back into gold to trade In the nether or anywhere else.

    It's not that simple. There would need to be different restrictions/rules for different blocks/items to retain balance. It cannot work with anything that has durability. It should also only provide a percentage of returned materials, not everything (since the materials used in crafted objects would lose their original forms, it's only logical to be able obtain a bit back from disassembly).

    Technically, you can smelt gold and iron armour/tools to get nuggets.
