"What do you mean by 'Optimized/Exaggerating Minecraft Combat Mechanics'?" here is my answer: Think of the basic Minecraft mechanic used in combat, strafing for example.
When you move from left to right, side to side or simply just making it more difficult for your opponent (PvP/E) to hit you via moving all around them. That is strafing.
Now here is some context: So you know the difference between 1.8/1.9 Combat? 1.8 Combat is extremely fast paced, no cooldowns and 1.9-1.19 is more optimized on the Minecraft mechanics in general and not as spammy as 1.8 and over the place as 1.9. Check it out for yourself.
Strafing in 1.8 is not as optimized as in 1.9 (ish) combat. You run up to opponents directly and send them flying (the strafing is not as exaggerated as compared to 1.9 combat). Where as in 1.9 you revolve and strafe around opponents a lot more visibly and easily. However in survival 1.8 (PvE entities) I do believe because of how opponents can be so optimizely (made up word but makes sense) encountered you can perform strafing a lot more to control and smoothly.
This is just one example of what mechanics in Minecraft could be more optimized/exaggerated if balanced in the right direction. But it seems like just in 1.8 PvP as compared to its PvE side, those 2 aspects just work perform a little differently. Where as 1.9 is superior in them.
I would have wrote A LOT more in-detail about this. Running out of characters to type, this is the best I can do to get my point.
Goodbye.
