I kindly request the rescinding of the NFT ban as this only stifles innovation, and excludes players more than preventing NFTs includes them.
While I agree that basic/existing in-game items/mechanics should not be monetized to allow a level playing field for all; third-party plugins that implement new features, achievements, and other non-native gameplay aspects should be able to be developed and integrated.
Many technologies have grown and piggy backed off each other over the years:
- Otto Lilienthal invented the glider, which led to the the airplane, jets, and eventually rocket ships
- The wheel, which led to wheelbarrows, horse drawn carts, and later vehicles, landing gear for planes/rockets, etc.
Just a couple examples of technology we'd be without if someone stopped innovation. We should be building together, and making Minecraft the best it can be..
The current approach I believe would jeopardize the future of Minecraft.
With that said, I believe continuing the current course of banning NFT & Blockchain integration will inevitably lead to the demise of Minecraft with a more inclusive, blockchain supporting platform taking over. There exists many examples of this in the past of stifled innovation overtaking the market; from lightbulbs/electricity vs candlelight, vehicles vs horses, telephone vs telegraph, etc. I could go on, but the point is moot.
I implore you to reevaluate your approach to NFTs, and to please work with the communities to create a framework that benefits all.
