Btw self explanatory but seeds are planted and cannot be consumed

Doesn't make a lot of sense, and is too easy to get for an infinite supply of golden things. Think about it like this... normally you need 8 nuggets to make a single golden carrot, but now it's 8 nuggets for an infinite amount of golden carrots.

And it's too simple. It should have some sort of magical origin of some kind, like requiring a specific item or block from an uncommon biome or something, rather than just plain dirt.

1 up, it needs mycelium instead and requires golden rain / water. Let me explain
Golden rain is a phenomenon that has a 1/150 chance to occur every 20 mins (minecraft day cycle) and to collect it you need a cauldron and collect it from the cauldron with an empty bottle. You can see where this is going but you need it to hydrate the soil. You can also drink it but it won’t do anything and you can also collect it from a cauldron (edit- with a bucket) and use it to hydrate the crops. The catch is it will evaporate over time and drop a gold nugget if an entire source block is evaporated. Btw the “liquid gold” as I would call it would hydrate the soil for 2 full day cycles. Thanks for the feedback those are all really good points
