Minecraft has a lot of blocks, but what if they had more? Why do we need them? Please don't just add lists of things - these will be marked as spam and removed! Also, no furniture, guns, or vertical/"sideways"/"upright"/"standing" slabs (yes, we see you).

Mining Fatigue Generator to protect your base (Elder Guardian Drop)

Elder Guardians don't drop good enough loot. Imagine they each dropped some type of shard and with 3 of them you could craft a Mining Fatigue Generator This generator would inflict constant Mining Fatigue onto any player within a certain range of itself, except for players who have right-clicked it. This would make a decent anti-griefing tool for servers.
