I really enjoy building realistic cities in Minecraft based on the buildings and things I see around me every day. In the US at least, a large number of buildings use intricate brickwork for their facades, especially older commercial buildings. I would love to recreate these lovely older buildings in Minecraft, but the current red bricks only have one bonding pattern based on the generic stretcher bond and thus, creating detailed brick-only facades is difficult or impossible to do.
I would love to see more types of red brick bonding patterns added so that we can give more detail to builds using bricks. Brick blocks based on other bonds such as English Bond (alternating long-side short-side bricks), Header Bond (short side of bricks are used instead of long side), Stack Bond (bricks laid directly on top of one another), and vertically-placed brick bonds could be a fun and useful addition that could create more variation in our brick buildings.
A way these blocks could be obtained could be via unique placement of brick items in the crafting grid (rather than the basic 2x2 grid for the standard bricks block) or by inserting the standard bricks block into a stonecutter.
I will admit this many different variations of bricks could be overwhelming so even just implementing a few of these brick bonding patterns would work wonders to our brick buildings.
