Mythril is a new mint colored ore that spawns very rarely in deepslate layers. It can be mined with iron tools and spawns in veins the same size as ancient debris. The ore is smelted to create Mythril shards which are crafted with iron to make bars. When a bar of Mythril is mixed with a piece of chainmail armor in a smithing table (same as netherite armor) it creates mythril armor. The rarity of mythril and the difficulty of obtaining chainmail armor will make this a difficult set of armor to obtain. Mythril armor will look like chainmail but mint green. Mythrils strength is between iron and diamond. Mythril armor has magical properties, it can be enchanted as easily as gold items. As well as that, being an improved version of chainmail, it takes on real life properties of chainmail. It has a percentage chance of deflecting attacks from certain weapons. The percent starts at %5 and goes up with each piece of armor %10 then %15 with three pieces of armor. The percentage goes up to %25 with a full set to encourage the armor over elytra. When an attack is deflected the player will take no damage. Mithril can deflect swords, axes, arrows, tridents, bites (spiders and silverfish), horns (ravagers), stings (bees), and tusks (hoglins). The player is still vulnerable to fire, potions, explosions, lasers (guardians), and blunt damage (zombie, warden, and iron golem). I think this will be a great new reason for chainmail to exist and lends itself to the difficulty of getting chainmail.
