Just don't add it no one likes it and its going to ruin the game. if people don't like the language used in a server they can just leave the server. Easy as that. This report feature makes no sense and its such a bad idea.

Mincrosoft, i don't want to say this but i have to. First, chat report is unimportant to add to Minecraft Java Edition, some big server like Hypixel is already have that. Second, If you get banned, don't ban in your own server and just need to ban for 1 month or 1 week, not ban forever. Third, in MInecraft Bedrock Edition, if you get ban you need to know why you got ban, Mincrosoft needs to state why you are banned. Lastly, i hope chat report in Java and Global Ban in Bedrock will fix in next version of Minecraft

In my honest opinion, the new Chat Reporting feature is the beginning of the end of Minecraft Java, if it remains as it is now. If you've listened to any part of the Java community, you'll know where I am coming from. Now there is no point to me playing Minecraft anymore because I don't feel safe, particularly on the multiplayer servers. So I am moving on to other things where such things can't happen (i.e. pocket billiards, bowling). On the flip side, it's been nice playing the game, and knowing that I got my money's worth for what I paid for.

It should be optional. on big servers like Hypixel, there are going to be tons of false reports. If you make it optional, it would be a lot better

The player reporting just ruins the whole game.

I know that it can be very useful for people that swear and it makes the game more family frendly.

But someone could make bots that abuse the player reporting or there my be some bad people that abuse the player reporting and making too many users banned on a false report that is abused. That's why there are many people mad because of someone could abuse the player reporting option by reporting a false that someone needs to be banned. that's why most of the server run on 1.19 and not on 1.19.1 and above. so please remove that it just ruins the whole game. But there may be a better option for making the game more family friendly. Your studios could hire some administrators or moderators that check the chat messages and banning swearing people.

this system is deeply flawed and not only can people get false banned, they can easily avoid one while breaking the rules. i really dont like the idea of being banned in singleplayer (possible on xbox and nintendo), because, like, who am i hurting here? the AI pigs and villagers? and who even uses chat in singleplayer? besides, people can just use discord for server chat after this, and no one can be banned from the game because theres no ingame evidence. why are you adding this and sticking with it?? this entire system sucks. it aint protecting no kids: they still see the messages, its just that they get reported. why not, at the very least, come up with another system and ask the community if this is better? or at least dont have it on 3rd party severs. you already have that "3rd party play online" message to warn kids that multiplayer is not always safe for kids.

I do not wish to play minecraft in fear of being false banned, server admins have shown to be more than capable of managing their respective communities and have more context to make better informed decisions.

You don't pay my private server running cost there for you should not have the ability to moderate my 3rd party private server chat that's what I pay my moderates to do. Thank god for the mod coders out there. that have made a mod to disable this. The downfall of Minecraft is a real and being felt by the community. I have not logged into bedrock in MONTHS in fear I may say something that may not be offensive but my get under the wrong persons skin and they have me banned for throwing a snowball at them. Come on were better then that. Remove the chat moderation

Majority of the Minecraft community doesn't want this stupid report system. "Our community standards" seriously?! no this isn't our standards. Majority standards are that mods rule over their own servers/realms as pleased as it has been done for years. We are individuals with different standards; we shouldn't have to follow the same standards. If you're so afraid of kids getting into stuff they shouldn't, enforce parental safety measures on their accounts, not something affecting everyone who plays the game. Why ask for feedback if not going to listen? We've begged for this report system to be removed and then you turn your backs on the community and continue to lie that we agree to these standards. Don't speak for us. We the community speak for ourselves, and majority says we don't want it.

I believe making this only apply to chat is a misstep.

It should instead be turned into a general reports tool instead of just chat reports and chat related infractions.

It should have the option to also report inappropriate skins, usernames, posting suspicious links / links to mods and files (rats and other malicious malware), as well as reporting servers for breaking the donation perk rules (being pay 2 win).

The option to report the above all exist in your support pages FAQ's and are for some reason tucked away in the site where most don't know they exist or cant find them. They should be in-game so more players know these options exist and can report bad actors who use racist, sexist, or inappropriate usernames or skins; also helping you Mojang blacklist more bad servers who exploit their donors, patrons, and players.

This is very distressing. It is going to denature Minecraft on a conceptual level.

I genuinely thought of Minecraft as the ultimate sandbox; not only because of what you can do in the game, but also because of what you can do with the game. Freedom to create mods, to build decentralized and independent communities,.. this is the cocktail of unbridled creativity that made Minecraft flourish. In that way, Minecraft Java Edition is often closer to a game engine.

The Minecraft I wish to see strive is a tool for independent communities; Minecraft with an overarching authority to police them is not that. Issuing universal multiplayer bans is by far the worst aspect of chat reports, and is putting a nail in the coffin of that independence. I strongly believe every community should have full control over its own moderation; A server administrator should, if they so choose, be allowed to accept any player who's bought the game, regardless of how they might have behaved elsewhere. Multiplayer can be just two friends playing on localhost, Mojang stepping in to decide whether they can even do that is an overreach.

If some servers wish to opt into your global banlist, let them do that; but those who don't want it need the ability to opt out

    Feedback:

Remove this from servers. Most people want to get home from school/work and have the freedom to type into the internet. It's the last place we're able to speak freely without fear of school/work backlash. Stripping it away after >20 years of gameplay is absurd!

You should remove the dumb chat report system, I a bedrock player can say that you have ruined bedrock to the point of no repair. Its a bad idea as server owners should be in power of can and can't happen in there server, you can go ahead and ruin realms as it runs off your servers but you should not have any control of other peoples servers because, you are not the one who pays for it to run, you are not going to have context on what the server is, and you'll end up banning people for no reason. If you power hungry company doesn't want to fully remove it just make it an option for the server owner to enable or disable the chat report system instead of scamming people by taking away the thing that they purchased real money for, tbh this ban system should be illegal because you're stealing peoples money.

WHY? JUST WHY????????? I understand keeping the game safe for children, but what's stopping people from abusing the system to get people banned. Also don't forget if someone says a bad word in chat, the server members already saw it. Why not just make it optional to censor chat.

Get rid of it. I refuse to play anything beyond 1.18. If you want to censor people, do it on your servers, not private ones. Let private servers handle their own moderation. Stop being thought police

Be careful of ViaFabric clients, they can report your skin, name and maybe your chat if the server can verify messages even if you play old versions.

Also be careful when joining a Minecraft Version 1.19.1+ server with an ViaFabric client designed for an older version like 1.8, they can report your skin, name and maybe your chat if the server can verify messages even if you play old versions.

Ok so you can be banned even if noone reports you. Im almost 30 and playing on a realm with a two actual full grown adults and after a few days I got a ban. They didnt report me for anything. Clearly there is an automatic system in place and they state that there is in fact not. I think it is extremely condescending to adults (who have the profanity filter off) , to say we can no longer use "naughty words".

I made a wanted sign that called my friend a certain type of criminal.
Now I am banned from a realm bought and payed for by adults.

I get it if we were playing publicly and children may be present, but this crosses a very dystopian line.
