They should have an "unmoderated" class of servers. It would allow anarchy servers to upgrade to 1.19. These servers will have an "unmoderated server" message so that you know that you are joining an anarchy server.

I'm really appalled by this feature. Never mind the tracking and creepy snooping potential. Or the issues with sharing surrounding chat messages potentially incriminating others. It's not your job. You don't own the people playing the game - which they purchased (sorry, "licensed," because an actual right to own is not something that intellectual property law ever considered), by the way - nor do you own the servers or administrate them. You should not be able to reach into other people's computers and make decisions for them in this way. Yes, you do that with Windows Update and you keep removing Windows features. There's a reason I run Linux now.

Chat management should be between me and the person actually running the server instead of something that goes over either of our heads and without our knowledge (or even actual wrongdoing).

it's absolutely not Mojang's responsibility to police the chat on Multiplayer servers when the server admins can do just fine without it

Leave the moderation to the people who pay for hosting the servers!

This new update is a disgrace to the entire Minecraft community as a whole. It represents a distrust in its userbase and a disconnect from what we as players want. You could've made a block system. You could've made a client-side censoring system. But instead, you've created an authoritarian government, likely to be controlled autonomously in the future (we know how this works Microsoft), to "provide safety to the Minecraft community." What you've actually done is quite the opposite - people are afraid of being on a small LAN server now because of this -- afraid that one malicious person might rage report an out-of-context piece of text that technically goes against your new idiotic chat guidelines, resulting in a permanent ban. We, the Minecraft community, are outraged and scared of what's to come from this change. But I can assure you that, unless you completely remove this report feature, you will lose many, many players due to the Minecraft boycotts some of the largest MC creators are planning. I hope your team makes the right decision and maintains what would be millions of non-returning players otherwise.

Well, I know all of that was planned to be added because of someone that have been reported that he doesn't have fun anymore because him and his sister was playing Minecraft on a server when you can build whatever you want, and someone else destroyed entirely what they we're built for so long, and then he was so mad of this that he notified mojang about this and Mojang listen to him and announced it to be added in the near future!!

    The end of anarchy servers...

I always seen Java as a bit of a diversion from the main Bedrock, Pocket and Console editions. I liked it for it's freedom, that you could do whatever you wanted with it and play the game in your own way. Now they are taking that freedom away.

Modding, roleplaying, anarchy... everything. Before now you could choose between a public regulated server, an anarchy server purely for fun or a private server just with your closest friends. Now that they are adding censorship, I don't feel safe on my own server anymore... I feel like I'm always being watched even though that shouldn't be happening.

Please, if you care about your community and want to maintain it... don't ignore it. Listen to feedback that you asked for in the first place.

For the love of your game and your community don't add or force this feature.

Up until this issue is resolved, my server is staying on the base version 1.19.

Throw your weight behind this. As a community we cannot let such a feature exist. The reason Minecraft is great is because of how much control it allows the users, and this breaches that.

How can they ask us to trust the moderating decisions of a third-party team over the informed, first-hand decisions of the individual servers' moderators? Not to mention how easily abusable any such system is, or what a mess of privacy concerns it is.

Agreed, it needs to go. It shouldn't even have been proposed in the first place.

Don’t add this feature, because of the obvious abusability issues, but people who have their full time jobs as a moderator like at Hypixel, could lose their jobs because of this feature. Not to mention the fact that when all of us migrated, you straight up lied to us, saying that “Java edition will be exactly the same.” Don’t do this to us, please.

No children are allowed on my private server and yet I still can't speak like an adult. I am not a child, please don't treat me like I am one. This really feels like all it accomplishes is further convincing adult players to distrust you. Who do you suppose is providing most of the money for Microsoft here, kids or adults? Seems to me like a smart business move to actually listen to the people who have disposable income for their Private (that would have been all caps, but... You know) servers!

If implemented, would be the dumbest thing Mojang/Microsoft would ever do in the history of Minecraft Java. For literal decades, independent servers had self-regulated and was doing extremely well in moderating their own servers. Adding this feature would not only screw the independent servers up with their tried-and-true moderation, but the private servers which we are not part of Mojang, who just want to play with friends, even with explicit words, they aren't harming themselves. Adding this would not only mean mass false reports, but also exploits on the moderation system in which certain people would be forever banned from playing multiplayer. I haven't even talked about the banning. WE PAID YOU (Mojang) SO WE CAN USE OUR REALMS!!! If the person gets banned, not only the person can't play multiplayer, but they're OWN SERVERS. It doesn't make sense, we didn't pay you (Mojang) just to not have access to our own server. I also haven't talked about the "Professional Moderators" too. It is flawed and utterly exploitable. They'll just green stamp you for a ban for the most minuscule reason, sometimes not even verifiable. Please, Microsoft, for the love of the game, DO. NOT. ADD. THIS. TO. MINECRAFT. JAVA.

Rant finished, please don't add the feature.

Microsoft, please get some sense into your head. This is just another case of a big company ruining something because they know that even if Minecraft is ruined forever they can get away with it and still be just as profitable.
We can’t allow this, if any human non-robotic-corporate Microsoft employee is reading this, you know very well this will do no good and there are so many different and better solutions.

Microsoft if you add this to your game it will either be a horrible game where you have to watch what you say each time you chat or the game will just die. we would hate to see minecraft die i love this game along with millions of people i am personally terrified of what your doing to your game.
