Mojang please ,for the love of your game, don't add a chat report feature.

Your game is family friendly yes, I get that, but the servers on Java edition have always been self governed by the players and server moderators. Not only would it be pointless it would drain resources from improving your beautiful, wonderful game. The idea is massively unpopular from within the community and none of us know how you would do it accurately so that innocent people don't get banned. If you do add it either add it to Realms only and have it be a toggleable feature. And for servers, if you choose to add it, make it so server owners can disable the feature because, although it is your game, those servers don't belong to Mojang, but to the players who love your game. Instead you could add a censorship feature that individual accounts can choose to turn on or not, maybe in the social interactions menu. I mean those are just my thoughts on the matter, a player who loves your game, I doubt you will read this but, y'know, I just wanted to share my thoughts on the topic

    Server owner here, here's my 2 cents.

    Having a global bans system on Realms is OK in my book, ultimately those are Mojang/MS servers. They pay for their hardware, they get to decide what happens on it.

    For third-party servers, having the option to either:
    - do nothing
    - warn the operators when a globally banned player joins
    - disallow globally banned players to join entirely
    is also fine because, as stated, it gives options to server owners.

    Enforcing a global banlist on every third-party server, without giving the option for those servers to opt-out of it, is NOT fine. We pay for our hardware, we get to decide what happens on it.

    Agree. Minecraft Java Edition is not just a normal game like others (which is usually .exe or something) but it's written in Java which is very customisable and has a lot of freedom. But this feature removes users' freedom to do anything they want...

    1) Minecraft Java is not Minecraft Bedrock which is ummm I wouldn't say see: marketplace, not available on linux or mac
    2) Minecraft Java was a good game until Microsoft bought Minecraft and ruined the game

    I already don't like playing multiplayer that much, and the thought that my words can be picked out of context to permaban me out of my own servers scare me

    when we migrated our accounts we were told 'nothing you like about minecraft will change'

     

     

    that said, one thing that we love about minecraft is its freedom, by implementing this, it is taking away freedom and power from server owners, of which im sure the server owners enjoyed and where told 'will not change'

    Your game has options for family friendly usage. There are servers for everyone, and there are plugins that censor this kind of behavior. You should not be imposing this on us when the trailer says nobody can tell us what to do. We'll sue if you're misleading us on your product advertisement because we didn't play for this.

    The report feature will be abused. There's no way Microsoft has the personnel to properly review every report.

    Hello, I'm also in favor of not adding this as servers are managed by moderators, administrators of the server in question! If you were to implement this then only on RELAMS!!!!
