Mangrove archipelagos

Minecraft islands are boring. my idea is that you can have groups of small islands spawn together, with only one-block high water separating them. they would be like pockets of mangrove swamp. they would be a welcome change from the sparse, sandy islands that currently inhabit the oceans. this would be the ultimate 'survival island', as there is barely any wood.
