Algae blooms

Algae blooms would generate in beach biomes, on top of water. They would be like a lichen block but for water. These could be many colors, red, green blue, etc. They can be collected.in a bucket. Besides decor, I have no idea what use they would have. Maybe fuel? A uncommon or rare form of this could be the luminescent Algae, which lights up like Redstone when disturbed. They can mainly come in blue.
