    Please, no. It's not a simple issue. It should not be up to Mojang or Microsoft to control, that is bad. Filtering isn't easy to do, anyway -- people can find ways bypassing them by typing in certain ways, nor are filtering system good at picking up on context. It's just an unstable mess that doesn't work well and can never work well. Also, it should be up to the individuals to choose what kind of environment to be in, and take action yourself to avoid what you don't want to be around. It's a personal problem, not a group problem.

    Just out of curiosity, how is this a difficult problem? Not to get perfect, that can get tricky, but to have a very basic filtering is easy. In python it's more or less:

    profanity_list = [...]
    def send_message(message):
    words = message.split(' ')
    for i in range(len(words)):
    if words[i] in profanity_list:
    words[i] = '****'
    new_message = ' '.join(words)
    # send message code

    Also they have the filtering already for realms, why not just use the same logic in the other modes? Like I said, it doesn't need to be perfect. People can get around filters without much trouble, and there's always ways to make it better, but a basic filter would be nice.

    As for the moral obligation, this is a classic problem seen in what feels like every game. While it is something that parents need to be careful of, there should be settings for basic things like profanity filtering. Does it need to be there when the game first launches? No. Would it be nice to have later down the road? Yep! Basically just go for the low hanging fruit. Disable blood? Blur nudity? Prevent players from sabotaging someone else? Cyber bullying? Some are easier than others to do, some are a piece of cake. Profanity filtering is one of the easy ones.

    I think this is a good idea, although if it gets too complicated then it might not be. Only because of the lack of client-side mods, and the fact that lots of servers don't do this

    minecraft bedrocks language censoring is second only to roblox, in a way that it is absolutely buggy and terrible,

    i personally am fine with swears especially when playing a fun game with friends and i personally dont want our dumb fun to be interrupted because mojang only wants minecraft to appeal to 5 year olds and the parents who use minecraft to raise their child for them
