With the Wild Update out, I believe that it is time to revise how we get saplings in Minecraft. The Wild Update helped introduce us to the idea that saplings don't have to generate by falling from leaves with Propagules. You could even say that this idea was around for longer with Crimson and Warped fungus in the Nether. Maybe adding seeds for the different plants instead of having the saplings fall from the trees. This could work exactly like Propagules, with bonemeal being used to further the growth cycle or to make a new seed. When planted, they could turn into the saplings, so that the saplings could still be used in builds. Examples of different seeds or fruits could be: acorns for oak, a variant of acorn for dark oak, a samara for birch trees, acacia fruits for acacia, and pine cones for spruce. I'm not sure about jungle trees, but maybe use the cocoa beans already in the game, or bananas, maybe a seed of a similar tree. I think this would be a good addition, and also it would tie into the changes made to ore gathering in caves in cliffs (raw ore instead of ore blocks).
