PLEASE supply an option to not generate below 0

It destroys the original game mechanics that so many people love. Same can be said for the new mine shafts, why on earth would you want to remove the originals?

1.18.2 Is a great new game, but it isn't minecraft.We have to get used to bigger and better, that's fine. But why destroy the original in doing so?

  I don't really get the problem. While caves do generate below your old worlds they don't interfere with it. The only interference you get is the bedrock turning into deepslate. While the new terrain has big caves now, the old caves still generate. Also mineshafts were never overhauled, they just also generate in the new caves with the biomes spreading into them.
