Minecraft is full of unique and useful biomes. But it’s always awesome to add an amazing biome that both fulfills the cinematic and usefulness check box.
I present the Geyser/hot springs biome!
This biome is located around tagia forests and non snowy mountains. It consists of simple stone, andesite, with strips and swirls of terracotta running through it.
It contains large and small pools all around that give off steam (explained how below) and with 1block tall unobtainable geysers that contain boiling water that can scald you. (NOTE:geysers can kill, hot springs can’t).
This biome would be useful to find as it contains the resource sulfur, a yellowish block that breaks into powder when broken without silk touch. Sulfur is useful for three reasons. The first is that when it is placed over a magma block underwater it creates a steam effect(like campfire smoke, but a larger area, more see through, and lighter) that can be created anywhere the player wants. That’s why the hot springs give off steam, because they have sulfur at the bottom. Sulfur can also be used with sand to craft gunpowder, making gunpowder craftable. Finally, sulfur is an extremely good furnace fuel because it cooks an item twice as fast as normal, so with a smoker or blast furnace, it is four times as fast as a normal furnace. By adding sulfur, the hot springs would become an incredibly useful biome as it’s found in the pools and the geysers convert any block underneath it into sulfur making it farmable.
