Elytras - Make players gain damage from rocket boosting

Elytras basically broke the balance with transportation. Once you get them, it is super easy to travel anywhere, and other methods of transportation become just useless.

How to solve this? Make players get some damage from rocket boosting! (10-16 rockets and you're dead, armor protection doesn't apply)

That way, you can't really use elytras for traveling, but they still would be a great mobility accessory! If you fell into the void, elytra would still help. If you want to quickly climb a mountain, elytra still would help. But, you wouldn't be able to travel long distances with elytras.

You would be forced to use other transportation methods, like minecarts. That way, other ways of transport become more useful, and elytras still stay useful!

Yes, elytras do break, but they're basically unbreakable with mending and unbreaking, and you can get those books easily with villagers which are very disbalanced too.

  Other methods of transportation should be buffed if that gets added, of course. For example, horses should be able to sit in boats, and be faster. Minecarts should be faster, even if driving without powered rails, and the furnace minecart should actually get good, etc. etc.

  With elytras you can travel anywhere with only a couple of fireworks, cringe.

  The elytra already breaks down after enough use. This idea is horrible. We need a better flying machine not one that makes it worse to travel. 😑
