Minecraft has a lot of blocks, but what if they had more? Why do we need them? Please don't just add lists of things - these will be marked as spam and removed! Also, no furniture, guns, or vertical/"sideways"/"upright"/"standing" slabs (yes, we see you).

Glowing Shields

If you add glow ink to the pattern slot in a loom, then whatever design you choose will light up white, but only when you block with the shield. This could be used in long-distance messaging systems, like Morse code, or to reveal secret affiliations.

You could also use other items in place of glow ink to change the color.

  • White = Glow ink
  • Red = Redstone
  • Yellow = Glowstone
  • Green = sea pickles?
  • Blue = soul sand or prismarine shards
  • Purple = amethyst

    I like this. It would be a great motivation to fix banner patterns transferring to shields, and to add banner shields to Bedrock Edition.
