The Echo Knife is a new weapon made with 1 stick and 1 Echo Shard, which was made to fill a unique niche in combat.
The weapon has a reach of 2, attack speed comparable to a sword, and 1 durability. Yes, I can hear you guys saying it’s too weak. However, the durability of this weapon goes down when you get hit, not when you hit. Let me explain.
The Echo Knife’s base damage is 5 hearts. However, hitting a mob doubles the dmg and changes the weapon texture so there are red streaks running through the blade(the fuller, aka groove in the middle is colored red), and does not lower the durability. This can stack as much as you want, but the damage drops to the base 5 after 10 seconds of inactivity. However, getting hit while the Echo Knife is active and is in the player’s hand(the dagger will not break if it hasn’t hit anyone yet) will break the Knife, and give you 3 hearts of damage with or without armor.
This weapon is insanely powerful and can easily outclass a Netherite tank in 2 or 3 hits(20 dmg in 2 hits) if the user is able to get close to the opponent. However, the opponent can use a sword(or any attack, really) to land a hit on the attacker, destroying the weapon. The niche weapon may add a new meta into combat where combos are valued highly.
