Orchids are one of the most diverse and strange groups of plants in the world despite mostly existing only in tropical montane forests. They are also one of the most endangered plant groups due to various reasons such as habitat loss and over-collection.
Appearance: to highlight their diversity they could have randomized colors and shapes, created by combining various petal and column shapes and sizes.
Use: Depending on the color of the orchid they could be crafted into every color of dye, making them a unique way to acquire dyes. they would also be super fun to collect and would incentivize exploration.
Spawning: in jungles, their frequency increases with elevation. Since they are mostly epiphytes they would grow on the sides of trees, similar to cocoa beans. They should not be renewable.
Other Benefits: Gives the jungle the color that it desperately needs, gives representation to an endangered group, and adds a cool sense of realism to the overworld.
