Diamonds, Diamonds are important for portals. Can't find any. Lvl 10 =0

I can not find diamonds in these new updates. No diamonds no portal. My mines floor looks like the stars in the sky. Are they in the ridicules ravens. No lava to make obsidian unless go well below 0. Copper cool. No diamonds after thousands of blocks Not cool. I have fun in old version but not so in new. Emerald are needed for trading but are so rare can not enjoy that aspect of the game. I am considering on not playing any longer because of this. Sometime changes are not all good. I am on PS 4 console. Thanks for listening.
