In 22W17A, the Warden drops a Sculk Catalyst upon death.
I think it's better to have the Warden drop nothing, rather than an item most people would find useless, because when you kill the Warden for the first time and see it drop something, if you aren't following the changelogs, you'd expect this unidentified new item that has been dropped to be extremely valuable.
In other words, a new item that drops from the Warden that will turn out to be a dud [for a casual player] is more anti-climactic, than if the Warden wouldn't drop anything in the first place.
Yes, the Sculk Catalyst is not useless for technical players, but it could be moved to somewhere else to keep it available without creating any anti-climax, as most people are probably not building farms or reading changelogs.
