Tree Roots

basically it wouldn't be a block but more a visual that would come from the logs, it wouldn't be solid you could walk through it, but you could use shears to get a new item called "x tree roots". so you could put the roots back on the tree if you do it on accident (there should also be bark items)

some tree roots would be bigger then others, like oak roots I'm pretty sure they have big roots and would have diffrent stages of root sizes, meaning needing to be sheared more to be rid of.

there could also be branches which are also visuals which stick out from logs; you could also shear them.
